Directions to Marblehead House:
From Route 128:
Take Route 128 North (also known as Route 95), past the intersections with Route 93, Route 1, and exit on Route 114 (Exit 25) Eastbound towards Peabody/Salem/Marblehead. Stay on Route 114 for approximately 5 miles, all the way into Marblehead, even though it requires 6-8 different marked turns to stay on the Route. Once in Marblehead, turn off Route 114 (Lafayette Street) via a left turn at the first light onto West Shore Drive. West Shore Drive becomes Beacon Street after 1.7 miles. Continue on Beacon Street for 1.0 miles until you see water. Just before the road makes an 90 degree right bend, turn left into our driveway at 45 Beacon Street. The house resides on its own point of land surrounded on all sides by water. It is a gambrel style house with natural cedar shakes and a covered front porch.
From Boston or Logan Airport (via Route 1A):
Take the Sumner Tunnel (follow signs to Logan Airport) outbound from Boston. Continue on Route 1A past Logan Airport for approximately 8 miles to Lynn, MA. At the intersection of Rt. 1A and Rt. 129 in Lynn, bear right on Rt. 129. After about ½ mile, bear left around the traffic rotary to continue on Rt. 129 north (the road hugs the coastline at this point). Continue on 129 into Marblehead where the route turns into Atlantic Avenue. Continue on Atlantic Ave. until you come to the second traffic light after entering Marblehead. Turn left here onto Ocean Ave. At the next light, turn right onto Pleasant St. Continue on Pleasant St. past the High School and turn left onto Village St. This is a 5-way intersection with a gas station on your left. Continue on Village St. until you come to a light. Turn right at the light onto West Shore Drive. Stay on West Shore Dr. for approximately 2 miles until you see the ocean on your left. West Shore Drive turns into Beacon St. Just before the road makes an 90 degree right bend, turn left into our driveway at 45 Beacon Street.
